K-Swiss Communiqueacute;
Kids in Europe are communicating through the stripes on their K-Swiss shoes, according to the European distributor for Westlake Village, Calif.–based K-Swiss Inc. The company’s Stripe Shifter shoe style has five stripes on the side that can be adjusted by sliding each stripe. According to the distributor, various combinations have specific meanings, such as “I’m single,” “Peace,” “Want 2 Play?” “Respect” and “I’m in love.” The company is on the hunt for new stripe messages by enlisting the help of its core consumers, dubbed Generation C. According to the distributor, the “C” in Generation C “stands for content. They have a strong need to communicate, using clothing, Web sites and Web blogs to express their unique personalities and develop relationships with others.” Consumers can create meanings for new stripe combinations and register them on the company’s Web site, www.kswiss.co.uk.
