Gerber to Offer Sourcing Services
Tolland, Conn.–based Gerber Technology has teamed with Iselin, N.J.–based ecVision to provide global sourcing and collaboration applications for the apparel and textile industries.
Gerber will now offer software tools that manage all steps within the sourcing pipeline, including task assignment, event management, alert escalation and workflow management. The aim is to eliminate communication delays and speed up the production process.
As production continues to migrate to multiple offshore sites for apparel manufacturers and importers, the need to manage sourcing is taking on more importance, Gerber executives said.
“Partnering with ecVision further gives us the opportunity to diversify and extend our offering and continues our commitment to provide innovative solutions,” said John Hancock, president of Gerber.
Established in 1998, ecVision has a growing list of retail and apparel-industry clients, including JCPenney, Abercrombie & Fitch and Saks. —Robert McAllister
