MAGIC Marketplace Vision for Fall '06
The MAGIC Marketplace presented its Fall ’06 looks on the runway during the Feb. 21-24 run of the trade show at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Vision: Men’s and Women’s Contemporary Collections’ fashion show opened with military-inspired jackets and tailored coats paired with shorts, trousers and boots. Styles were clean, tailored and refined in an array of black, gray and red.
A group of edgy sportswear mixed embellished jackets and blazers with screen-printed T-shirts, denim jeans, skirts and corduroy pants. An earthy palette of sage, coffee, ivory and rust made up a group of womenswear with eclectic fabric combinations and feminine details. Key pieces included sweaters, tiered skirts, shorts and long silk dresses.
The earthy theme continued into the next group, evolving into a look of rustic glamour. Leather blazers, fur coats, vests and long sweaters were paired with patchwork skirts, knit dresses and jeans.
The finale included luxurious fabrications reminiscent of an old-world style. Brocades, laces, velvets and tapestries were used in jackets, coats, skirts and pants in a rich array of gold, green, ruby and black. Modern fabrics such as denim and corduroy were mixed in to add a modern edge to the look. —N. Jayne Seward
