Formalwear Retailer Takes Pacoima Space
Officials at Norcross, Ga.–based After Hours Formalwear, the nation’s largest chain of company-owned tuxedo and men’s formalwear stores, have signed a 10-year lease to occupy a 70,000-square-foot office/ warehouse space in Pacoima, Calif.
The retailer, a division of David’s Bridal Group, will use the facility for a regional service center. The 50-year-old company was created via the merger of Mitchell’s, Small’s and Tuxedo World. It has since acquired a number of formalwear retailers, including Desmond’s Formalwear, Modern Tuxedo, Tyndall’s Formalwear, Formal America stores in Atlanta, select Gingiss Formalwear stores and Gary’s Tux Shops.
The new center will be located at 12800 Wentworth St. The lease was brokered by Staubach Los Angeles, the West Coast division of Dallas-based The Staubach Co., headed by former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Roger Staubach.
“The new facility will allow After Hours Formalwear to offer greater service productivity to a steady, precise and time-sensitive business,” said Corey Spound, vice president of industrial services at Staubach Los Angeles. “Staubach and After Hours sought the ideal location for this new service center and moved quickly to secure the property,” he added.
David’s Bridal Group is part of Federated Department Stores, which also owns the Mr. Tux and Squire Tux store chains. The Bridal Group joined Federated last year following the Cincinnati–based department store chain acquisition of The May Department Stores Co. Federated has since announced plans to sell the bridal unit.
