Quiksilver Gets New Marketing VP
Natas Kaupas, a former pro skater and artist, has been named the new vice president of marketing of the Quiksilver division of Quiksilver Inc. Kaupas joined the Huntington Beach, Calif.–based company in 1999 as part of the art department and had a large role in shaping the identity of the brand.
In 2004 and 2005, he received the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association’s Advertising Campaign of the Year award for his work with Quiksilver.
Kaupas will retain his role directing all of the brand’s artwork across its territories as the Quiksilver brand global creative director. In his new role as vice president of marketing, he will also oversee Quiksilver’s creative, advertising, promotion and online projects. “His promotion [is] a natural progression,” said Marty Samuels, president of Quiksilver Americas. —Erin Barajas
