New York Fashion Week Fall '06: Max Azria Collection
Previously known as BCBG Max Azria Collection, the newly renamed Max Azria Collection showed in Bryant Park on Feb. 6. The name change reflects the company’s new strategy to evolve the brand to another level, the company said. Designer Max Azria sent skinny pants, kimono tops, obi belts, snug sweater dresses and sexy draped party dresses down the catwalk. A palette of burgundy, midnight blue, gray, Army green and black kept the collection’s mood somber, but quirky details abounded in the form of unique volumes and pleats and folds. The collection will be available at 25 select BCBG Max Azria boutiques as well as specialty boutiques and high-end department stores.—Erin Barajas
