Lectra Updates Cutters, Printers
Paris-based Lectra has upgraded products within its cutting and printing systems lines aimed at apparel manufacturers.
The company, which bases its West Coast operations in Cypress, Calif., has improved its ProSpinST single-ply cutter with new technology aimed at improving cutting quality and production cycles.
A vibrating blade powers the new system, which makes for truer cuts on industrial fabrics,Lectra officials said. The cutter is designed for prototyping and small-run production.
The cutter is a fixed-table type and comes in varying widths and lengths and adapts to piloting software.
Lectra has also released a new printer—the Sapphire II—which has been improved with a fabric conveyor that enables direct printing on fine, transparent and elastic fabrics, particularly Lycra.
The printer is designed for small-run production and rounds out Lectra’s series of printers, which now handle cotton, viscose, linen, silk, polyamide and polyester.
