Stunning Shapewear
Hanesbrands Inc.’s “What Lies Beneath” event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills spotlighted award show–destined gowns and invisible curving, slimming and smoothing innerwear that can help celebrities look their best for a red-carpet moment. Hanesbrands’ new shapewear product, Go Figure, was unveiled at the event on Nov. 29. Go Figure creates a smooth silhouette from the true waistline all the way to above the knee. Products from the Hanes, Barely There, Donna Karan Hosiery, Bali, Playtex and Wonderbra labels were also on display for editors and stylists to peruse. Sparkling evening gowns by Monica Byrne in halter, strapless and spaghetti-strap cuts were paired next to the appropriate undergarments from strapless bras and tummy-tucking shapewear to seamless panties. Because no red carpet–themed event is complete without blingy gems, stylist Cate Adair presented a collection of bejeweled evening clutch handbags in collaboration with jewelry designer Erica Courtney. —Rhea Cortado
