Ling Joins Saks
Saks Inc. named Dennis Ling as senior vice president and treasurer of Saks Fifth Avenue Enterprises, and in May 2007, he will assume the post of senior vice president and treasurer of Saks Inc. Ling’s experience includes working with several Fortune 500 companies including Avon Products Inc., PepsiCo Inc. and Ford Motor. He will be based in New York and will report to Michael Archbold, the current chief financial and administrative officer for SFAE, who will become executive vice president and chief financial officer of the company in May. Saks is also moving its key finance and executive functions from Birmingham, Ala., into the existing Saks Fifth Avenue offices in New York. The company has also updated its logo in partnership with design studio Pentagram Design Inc. The new logo was inspired by the classic Saks Fifth Avenue calligraphy logo created by designer Massimo Vignelli in 1973.
