M.Fredric Gives New Brand the Royal Treatment
Monarchy, a new Los Angeles–based menswear line that also makes tees for women, held a launch party April 18 at the M.Fredric store in Studio City, Calif. The drinks flowed freely and the store’s front tables were piled high with Monarchy’s edgy graphic tees.
Levine, an energetic supporter of the brand, was decked out in a full Monarchy ensemble. “I think this line is going to be unbelievable,” Levine said. “If I can help these manufacturers get the exposure that they need, it’s my pleasure.”
Kim thought M.Fredric was an ideal location for a launch party. “Our company is very family oriented,” he said. “It’s not very corporate and Fred’s kind of the same type of guy. We had a good bond.”
Monarchy’s polo shirts, tees and blazers have been shipping to stores for less than a year. The line sells in 44 countries, Kim said. —Rhea Cortado
