L.A. Int'l. Textile Show's International Expansion

The Los Angeles International Textile Show is preparing for its April 24–26 run at the California Market Center with an expanded roster of textile and trim suppliers, including a new Korean textile pavilion and a combined Italian and French pavilion.

TexItalia, the Italian textile and trim show sponsored by the Italian Trade Commission, will return to the CMC’s fashion theater. New exhibitors include Serikos evening and bridal fabrics; Romi womenswear, outerwear and swimwear fabrics; Neoseta sportswear, activewear and shirtings; Marco Lagattolla silk, lace and embroidery; and three mills that produce denim and corduroy, Duemilagori, Gentex Industriale and Berto E.G. Industria Tessile.

TexItalia will be joined this year by the French textile exhibitors from the French Pavilion, which is sponsored by the Lyon, France–based textile organization Espace Textile. New exhibitors in the French Pavilion include Bel Maille knits; FTF France Textile Fabrication prints; Roudiere-Avelana woolens and lace; and embroidery maker Sophie Hallette, which is returning to the show after being absent for several seasons.

The French Pavilion was previously held on the 13th floor Penthouse Pavilion. A renovated 13th floor now has an additional 35,000 square feet of exhibition space, creating the building’s largest contiguous space of about 110,000 square feet.

The new Korean Pavilion is sponsored by KOTRA, the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency. KOTRA will host a luncheon for textile buyers on April 24.

The Textile Association of Los Angeles will again sponsor the hospitality lounge in the 13th floor Penthouse and will offer a breakfast for buyers daily at 9:30 a.m.

The CMC has also organized a full slate of trend seminars hosted by such forecasting agencies as Design Options, Carlin International, Fashion Business Inc., Peclars Paris and Promostyl. —Alison A. Nieder
