Dirtbag Clothing in Deal With Gift Chain
San Quentin, Calif.–based Dirtbag Clothing Inc., maker of rock Tshirts and clothing, has reached an agreement with Spencer Gifts LLC, an Egg Harbor Township, N.J.–based gift store chain, to carry the Dirtbag brand in 625 Spencer stores in the United States and Canada.
Dirtbag is known for its edgy shirts and clothing, worn by a host of rock bands, including Five.Bolt.Main, Mercy Clinic, Fear Factory, Shadows Fall and Deconstruct. The company also collaborated on a line with the late guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott before a fan killed him at a Columbus, Ohio, nightclub in 2004.
“Over the last five years we have created an international cult following through the support of bands, celebrities and extreme athletes,” said Doug Canning, Dirtbag Clothing’s chief executive officer. “This partnership will allow us to further build the Dirtbag brand by expanding our product offering and reaching an entirely new demographic while continuing to strengthen our relationships within the music and entertainment industries.”
Spencer Gifts will highlight the deal with a promotion and sweepstakes that will offer product giveaways and a “Be a Dirtbag Band” contest to help both companies discover new talent. —Robert McAllister
