San Francisco Fashion Week '05: Christina Hurvis
Christian Dior, Jean Paul Gaultier and Pierre Balmain were not in vain with her standout collection, made with the finest silks. The San Francisco–based designer presented 18 evening gowns and bridal dresses inspired by Yves Saint Laurent and Balenciaga. An ivory organza strapless cocktail dress with a feather petticoat, a copper silk satin crepe bias-cut gown with hand-embroidered pink-and-red flowers, and a black silk satin strapless ball gown with scarlet ribbon and black lace insets were among the looks. A full-sleeved ivory French-lace gown with hand-encrusted pearls and sequins was made to perfection.
