L.A. Fashion Week Spring '06: 2B Free
A last-minute rain shower delayed the start of the 2B Free show, held Oct. 15 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, but once the runway was mopped, Paris Hilton gamely opened the show wearing a T-shirt dress featuring rainbow-hued graphics.
Designers and brothers Yves and Cedric Benaroch employed a new graphic treatment—part spray-can-style graffiti art and part ’80s-inspired airbrush designs—for their collection of California-casual, luxury sweats, jeans and tees.
For women, the look was low-rise and body-skimming, at times whimsical with graphics of ’80s-style rainbows, hearts and ponies imagery. Other styles were more edgy, including a splatter-print hooded shrug paired with flameprinted briefs.
For men, the looks included appliqueacute;s of fleurs-de-lis, skulls, crests and crowns on sweats, tees and cargo shorts, as well as the graffiti-style print technique on jeans and sweat shirts. —Alison A. Nieder
