L.A. Designer Saenz Heads to China

Los Angeles–based designer Uriel Saenz will travel to China in early November to be the featured designer in the 10th annual China International Fashion Fair, held in Humen.

Fair consultant Ivy Shen extended the invitation to Saenz, who will present a 30- look show on Nov. 13 at the trade show. Shen has been recruiting international designers to show at the fair for the past three years. Show organizers will provide Saenz with a production team, accommodations and access to stylists and models.

Humen, located in southern China, is home to more than 1,000 apparel factories, which produce more than 100 million pieces annually, according to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

The China International Fashion Fair, which runs Nov. 11–15, will feature sections devoted to apparel, textiles and trims, and manufacturing.

Saenz is a longtime exhibitor at the P.KaBu independent runway series during Los Angeles Fashion Week. His designs are sold in Los Angeles at the Na’Pali and Mogul boutiques. —Alison A. Nieder
