Costing-Solutions Providers Team Up
Asheville, N.C.–based Methods Workshop has agreed to distribute costing software from Lake Worth, Fla.–based Estmark Inc.
Estmark markets a program that calculates fabric usage and costs to save money on overseas and domestic purchases. Methods Workshop markets Quick TruCost and Engineered TruCost, similar costing tools that include labor and other factors.
By marketing the products together, Methods Workshop will deliver a broader spectrum of services.
“With fabric consumption now representing 60 percent or more of the wholesale cost of apparel and other sewn products, we have been looking to extend our range of solutions to capture this important cost information,” said John Stern, president of Methods Workshop. “We see Estmark as the perfect companion product to our existing line of engineering solutions. Just like what Quick Tru- Cost does for labor, Estmark enables users to quickly and accurately calculate fabric consumption with minimal time, effort and data entry.”
