Hyosung Expands Creora Line
Seoul, Korea–based fiber maker Hyosung unveiled an expanded line of its branded Creora spandex fibers at the recent Texworld and Expofil shows in Paris.
Creora H-100X is a high alkali- resistant fiber created to retain its stretch when used in velvet burnout fabrics.
Creora C-400 can be steam-set for use in seamless garments and socks to help reduce shrinkage. Blended with cotton or nylon, C-400 has a natural hand and long-lasting shape retention.
Creora H-350 has a high heat setting so that it can be used for microfiber/ polyester knit blends. H-350 can also be used in denim fabrics, since the high heat setting allows it to withstand garment finishing.
Hyosung also introduced several specialty fibers, including Xanadu-55, an elastic polyester fiber with a soft, natural hand. The fiber has high resistance to heatcaused contraction and maintains elasticity. And because it is heat resistant, it can be easily dyed.
Firex is a new flame-resistant polyester fiber. When burned, the fiber does not release noxious gases, like other man-made materials, so it can be used for bedding, curtains, wallpaper and other interior applications.
The company also introduced a 15–20 denier nylon yarn created for ultra-light fabrics.
Hyosung also expanded its antimicrobial offerings at Texworld.
Aerosilver is an anti-bacterial polyester fiber that absorbs moisture and is quick-drying. The fiber is based on the technologies from two other Hyosung products, Aerocool, a moisture-management fiber, and Magic Silver, a fiber that contains naturally antimicrobial silver. The fiber also blocks ultraviolet rays.
Aerosilver joins Hyosung’s other antimicrobial offerings, including Mipan Nano-Magic Silver, a nylon fiber with anti-bacterial and deodorant characteristics. The fiber, first introduced in 2003, is made with silver particles, using nano technology, and withstands repeated washings without losing its antimicrobial properties.
At Texworld, the company set up a 200-square-meter pavilion, which it shared with several of its partner mills, including Sanghyun Textile, Texmill, Saechang Commercial, Kora International, SNT, Dalsung Textiles,Duckwoo, Samwha Trading, Taekwang Textile and Pacific Textiles.
