Hartmarx Goes Blue
Chicago-based Hartmarx Corp. purchased Seattlebased companies Simply Blue and Seymour Blue, makers of women’s denim bottoms and related apparel, for $21 million. The companies, which manufacture the Christopher Blue, Wouml;rn, L. Paseo and Jag jeans brands, will operate as one unit under the Hartmarx Women’s Apparel Group umbrella. Christopher Blue is sold in specialty stores and larger retailers including Neiman Marcus. Wouml;rn, L. Paseo and Jag are sold at Nordstrom.
