CFA Hosts Charge-back Workshop
Charge-backs—and how to avoid them or reduce them—will be the focus of the California Fashion Association membership meeting Dec. 1 at the California Market Center.
Titled “Charge-back Reform: Current Legal Issues,” the event will feature a panel of industry experts including attorney Mark Brutzkus of Ezra Brutzkus Gubner LLP, retail consultant Lynne Sperling of The Sperling & Hileman Group and financial consultant Robert Prather of A/R Management Services.
Among the topics to be discussed are: how to avoid charge-backs, how to work with retailers to reverse charge-backs, what to do when negotiations don’t work, understanding the difference between “operational” and “merchandising” charge-backs, and the systems and records needed to protect against charge-backs.
There will be a question-and-answer session as well as private meetings with the experts.
Ezra Brutzkus Gubner LLP, Bank of America and California Apparel News are sponsoring the event, which will be held at 3:30 p.m. in CMC suite C686. The workshop is free, but an RSVP is required. For information, e-mail info@calfashion.org.
