Marshall Gordon Leaves SAP for TradeCard
High-ranking technology executive Marshall Gordon has joined New York–based supply-chain specialist TradeCard Inc. as its new senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.
Gordon comes to the company from Newtown Square, Pa.–based SAP, where he spent the past seven years as the retail, apparel and footwear manager.
Gordon will oversee the growth and development of TradeCard’s financial supply chain platform, which helps companies process financial transactions via the Internet in a secure environment. The company’s global network of affiliates also provides automated services for supply-chain financing, credit protection, money movement and inspection. The aim is to optimize cash flow and reduce costs and reliance on credit lines.
“Joining the company was a rare opportunity to lead a growing sales team delivering near-immediate business value,” Gordon said. “By synchronizing the financial supply chain with the more often targeted physical supply chain, TradeCard enables full benefit of initiatives requiring cash flow, credit and transaction efficiency. This is especially valuable today, as brand consolidation and supply-chain rationalization require increased chief financial officer and chief supply chain officer collaboration.” Gordon is known for his expertise in supply-chain systems and emerging radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. He sat on the pioneering body that is helping to establish guidelines in emerging RFID standards. He is well known throughout the industry, having spoken at numerous national seminars addressing technology and the apparel industry.
At SAP, Gordon led a team that attracted seven of the top 10 apparel and footwear industry leaders, including Nike Inc. and Reebok International Ltd. He previously served as a principal with the Textile Consulting Group, providing strategic guidance to manufacturers transitioning to global sourcing. He was also vice president of manufacturing and sourcing for Crystal Mills, a private-label manufacturer.
“Marshall’s spent years in the markets we serve, both as practitioner and valued advisor. Together with his expertise in building solution-oriented businesses, this background makes him the ideal person to lead and grow our sales team. Having him on board will take us to the next level,” said Kurt Cavano, TradeCard’s chairman and chief executive officer.
For now, Esther Lutz will oversee Gordon’s former responsibilities at SAP, said a SAP spokesperson.
TradeCard has about 1,000 customers in 50 countries. The company recently reported record first-quarter earnings, with highs for quarterly revenue and transaction volume. It has logged two straight years of 100 percent year-over-year revenue growth.
