American Apparel Techs Up Retail Stores
Los Angeles–based American Apparel is expanding its point-of-sale technology with new software from Irvine, Calif.–based Retail Pro. Company executives have signed licenses to use the product in 20 stores for up to 100 users.
The software manages point-of-sale operations, including inventory tracking, customer relationship management and receiving, transferring, and ordering.
American Apparel is a supplier of blank T-shirts and sportswear to the apparel industry. It also has been growing its base of company-owned retail stores over the past couple of years and now has 20 units and 12 on tap this year, including stores in Paris, Boston, Chicago, Miami and San Diego.
Retail Pro is marketed by Glendale, Calif.–based One Step Data and developed by Irvine, Calif.–based Island Pacific Inc.
Dan Jablons, vice president of One Step Data said the company is equipped to handle American Apparel’s fast growth.
“We’ve been able to help them by combining the power of Retail Pro software with our consulting, training and support services. All of these elements combine to formulate a strong partnership and continued success for everyone involved.”
Retail Pro’s other apparel clients include Oakley Inc., Jimmy Choo Shoes, Valentino, Ashworth and Diesel USA.
