Hurley Streamlines Order Management
Costa Mesa, Calif.–based surf brand Hurley International is overhauling its internal apparel order-processing system to help reduce the workload for its managers.
Hurley is working with Long Beach, Calif.–based e-commerce specialist AstralCom, which will help the manufacturer automate its order-processing network to give managers a real-time view of inventory.
Hurley, acquired by Nike Inc. in March 2002, is part of Nike’s stable of brands, which are tied together through a network. By enhancing order processing with AstralCom’s e-business engine and custom integration codes, Hurley managers will save several steps in the ordering and inventory management process.
“We’ll be adding enhanced functionality like real-time inventory display and data parsing from their proprietary legacy system so that online display and ordering will be directly tied to available inventory,” explained Russ Ronchi, AstralCom’s project manager.
Hurley expects to complete the installation in the coming weeks. —Robert McAllister
