Top Sourcing Execs at FIDM Seminar

A slate of sourcing and technology executives will address the changing face of global apparel trade during the second Balanced Sourcing Symposium conference, set for April 8 at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles.

Representatives from factories such as Koramsa in Guatemala and Argus International and Partex in El Salvador will discuss the Central American Free Trade Agreement and other advantages of sourcing in the region.

In addition, Jockey, Warnaco, ISL and Patagonia will be on hand with other apparel companies to talk about how they have used technology to streamline their production pipelines.

Ana Vilma de Escobar, vice president of El Salvador, will deliver a lunchtime speech.

The American Apparel & Footwear Association and Walter Wilhelm Associates are sponsoring the event. The cost is $250 for AAFA members and $350 for nonmembers. Last year’s event sold out. For more information, contact the AAFA at jmcneal@apparelandfootwear.org or at (703) 797-9047. —Robert McAllister
