Knitwear Line Stacia Launches in California
Like many immigrants to California, New York–based Stacy Johnson reinvented herself.
But in Johnson’s case, she embraced California’s beach aesthetic after spending more than six years finessing an urban look with a label called Stacia New York She recently launched the beach-inspired label Stacia from her new home in Santa Monica, Calif., and sells her items from an online store, www.shopstacia.com.
The label is dominated by knitwear, including her “Spacedye” collection of form-fitting hoodies, bikinis, halters, tanks, T-shirts and ballet-style tops constructed out of spun rayon. Her other collections include “Hibiscus,” a spun-cotton line of hoodies bearing a design of hibiscus flowers, for babies. —Andrew Asch
