Cristina Angarola Moves to the Cooper Design Space
After seven years at the California Market Center, the Cristina Angarola showroom moved to the Cooper Design Space at the end of May for the Los Angeles Fall II Market.
The new 4,100-square-foot space, which will feature small boutique workstations and a larger viewing area for higher-volume lines, has allowed Angarola to expand her business in a way that she said had not been possible at her 1,600-square-foot CMC showroom.
One key change was the addition of men’s lines, including NSF, Report Collection and Countylube. With the added space, the showroom will pick up the men’s divisions of Holmes, J & Co., Smashing Grandpa and Ynnub, which have both women’s and men’s collections.
Interior designer Tracy Beckman, who designed EM Productions’ showroom in the Cooper Design Space and collaborated with Kelly Wearstler on the Avalon Hotel in Los Angeles, is working with Angarola to develop the deacute;cor, which is a mixture of refinished vintage furniture, custom screens, chandeliers and foil wallpaper.
“[The Cooper Design Space] appeals to more adventurous buyers who will be open to new talent,” said Angarola, who added that the extra space will allow her to showcase the individual personalities of the designers and help the smaller boutique labels grow. The showroom will be open for market with some unfinished touches and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June.
