Miami SwimShow Cruise '06: Red Carter South Beach
Formerly a designer for many top swim brands—including Oscar de la Renta, Esprit and Victoria’s Secret—designer Red Carter started his Red Carter South Beach swim line three years ago out of a closet in his South Beach apartment.
This season, the collection included a broad range of 1960s-inspired looks, with a mixture of Miami art deco prints, mod designs and hippie-chic ethnic styles accessorized with bold African tribal jewelry.
“I’m from South Beach, and the women here are hot, sexy and they like to be noticed. I’m happy to bring that little opportunity to them from my vision,” Carter said. —N. Jayne Seward
