Body Glove Vaporizes Water
Body Glove International unveiled the first product in its new men’s line for Spring 2006, an indication that the Redondo Beach, Calif.–based company will rely on the technology and expertise that goes into its wet suits for its apparel.
Influenced by the Vapor wetsuit, the Vapor boardshorts feature patent-pending fabric that is lightweight, stretchy without Lycra and moisture-wicking. Body Glove said the water-repellant finish is infused in the fibers rather than coated on them. The boardshorts also have a waistband constructed with internal webbing and a short, wide fly that does not require Velcro. The company said the dot-tone pattern on the shorts’ waistband and the black colorway are taken from the wet suit. The boardshorts will wholesale for $31.50.
The last time Body Glove marketed an apparel line was about 10 years ago. Body Glove’s apparel and swimwear for men, along with its juniors collection, are licensed to Irvine, Calif.–based Rays Apparel Inc. —Khanh T.L. Tran
