Tukatech Launches CAD Rental Program
Los Angeles–based Tukatech Inc. is offering its pattern-making, grading and marker-making software to the trade on a rental basis.
Leasing rates for TUKAcad.NET 2005 start at $150 per month with a $100 refundable deposit. Lower rates are available for students and other qualified parties.
Tukatech executives said the system contains digitized master blocks, eliminating the need for digitizers. Users can also create physical patterns through the company’s TukaCenters or through FedEx Kinko’s stores.
The company also offers training videos to help new users learn the system.
Tukatech Chief Executive Officer Ram Sareen estimated that 85 percent of the industry cannot afford to buy CAD systems. “I never thought I’d see the day when CAD systems can be sold over the counter with self-learning tools. Well, we have done it,” he said.
