Million-Dollar Vacation Spot

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recently approved state budget includes $7.3 million for the California Travel and Tourism Commission, according to the Sacramento Business Journal. The commission has been operating on limited state funds for the past few years and has been raising money through a self-assessment tax on tourism-dependent businesses such as restaurants, hotels and amusement parks. With the new funds in place, the commission will launch a national advertising campaign to promote tourism to the state.
