NPD Acquires STS
Port Washington, N.Y.–based consumer and retail research company The NPD Group has acquired STS Market Research, a fashion industry research firm based in Cambridge, Mass., and STS’ longitudinal research panel, AccuPanel, which tracks consumers’ purchasing decisions over time. STS Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Arthur Spar will join NPD as vice president of NPD Fashionworld. STS’ Susan Merrill will become client development director for NPD Fashionworld, and Carol Parker will become AccuPanel director for NPD Fashionworld. STS’ Cambridge office will become the NPD Center of Analytic Excellence.
