Angelique Building Sells for $1.24m
The building that houses the popular Angelique Cafeacute; in the Los Angeles Fashion District sold for $1.24 million to Los Angeles– based real estate firm DNR Bros., according to broker GVA Daum of Los Angeles.
DNR, a private investment group, purchased the property from a single owner, Frank Chu, said Eric Kessler of Daum.
The 5,400-square-foot building is the unofficial gateway to the Fashion District, sitting at 832–840 Spring St., where Spring and Main streets intersect. The rustic French cafeacute; is a popular destination for the local fashion industry and tourists alike. It is situated on the south end of the property and is the main tenant of the building, which was built more than 100 years ago.
The sale is not expected to affect business in the building, which includes Angelique and several convenience retail businesses. Florence Commereuc, who owns Angelique with husband Bruno Herve, said the new owners do not plan to make any drastic changes to the building’s retail uses. The Commeruecs have operated Angelique for the past eight years.
