Tukatech to Debut CAD/PDM Package
Los Angeles–based Tukatech Inc. has developed a new software package called TukaPlan Pro, which integrates pattern design specs into product data management applications aimed at facilitating the product development process.
The company will debut the package to the trade during the March 16–18 run of Material World and Technology Solutions, held in Miami Beach, Fla.
TukaPlan Pro combines traditional CAD software—pattern design, grading and marker making—with product data management, an application used to manage pre-production specs. Rather than maintain CAD as a separate process, TukaPlan stores the CAD data in an online database that is accessible to trading partners throughout the supply chain. The aim is to give overseas factories real-time scenarios of the product development process.
The data can also be exported into the company’s E-Fit Simulator 3-D viewer or into FedEx-Kinko’s worldwide printing systems.
