Guess' European Expansion
Guess? Inc. said it purchased the remaining shares of Maco Apparel S.p.A. that it did not already own for an undisclosed sum. The company said the move is part of a plan to expand its business in Europe.
Guess also said it acquired the leases and assets of 10 retail stores in Rome, Paris and other European cities from Fingen S.p.A. and Fingen Apparel N.V.
Through an Italian subsidiar y, Los Angeles–based Guess had owned 10 percent of Maco, which has served as its jeanswear licensee in Europe. The retail property deal will add to the company’s roster of 287 stores in the United States and Canada.
