New 3-D V-Stitcher From Browzwear
Tel Aviv, Israel–based Browzwear International, which markets 3-D tools for CAD artists, has released a new version of its popular V-Stitcher application, used by Gerber Technology Inc. and other major companies.
V-Stitcher is a 3-D engine that allows apparel designers to drape their creations over virtual models (avatars) so they can visualize their garments better and speed up the production process.
As part of the release, the company has added a male avatar for menswear designers. The new version also includes a fabric testing kit, which measures the mechanical properties of a variety of materials.
“The purpose of the latest developments is to add functionality to the application and to further improve its ease of use, accuracy and realism,” said Yanir Farber, Browzwear president.
The company provides V-Stitcher as an interface to popular CAD programs, including Gerber Technology’s AccuMark. The 3-D software is used by Nike Inc., Adidas, Benetton and others. —Robert McAllister
