Methods Workshop Rolls Out Costing Software
Method Workdshop LLC, based in Lake Worth, Fla., has released new software that calculates labor costs in apparel industry manufacturing settings.
Called ETC 8.0, the system is aimed at providing a more affordable alternative to fullblown PMTS (pre-determined method/time systems) software, according to company officials.
The system delivers operation-by-operation details, which are useful for providing incentive rates and for making production quotas. Company officials said more than 30 percent of sewn products sold in the United States will continue to be made in the Western Hemisphere despite the fact that quotas ended recently for members of the World Trade Organization.
ETC 8.0 has been developed around a fourth-generation MTM (methods time measurement) database. The system is built on Microsoft Corp.’s fastest database engine and has the ability to revert a style or an operation to a previous file instantly, officials said.
