JH Design Acquires Sledge
Sportswear licensing company JH Design Group recently acquired Sledge USA, a sportswear line of sweats and T-shirts designed by Phillip Teboul.
Neither of the Los Angeles–based companies disclosed financial terms.
Sledge represents a departure for the JH Design Group, which holds the licenses for the National Basketball Association, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing and Major League Baseball.
“We decided to branch out and get into the fashion industry,” said Vered Nisim, vice president of marketing for the JH Design Group. “We want to turn Sledge into a global brand.”
The company is negotiating with licensing partners in Japan and England and plans to license handbags, shoes and accessories domestically. —Erin Barajas
