Bridal Group Marriage
Federated Department Stores’ bridal division, The Bridal Group, has purchased certain assets of the Mr. Tux and Squire Tux stores, a 55-year-old retailer that sells and rents out tuxedos through its chain of more than 40 stores. The Bridal Group joined the Federated group in August when the Cincinnati-based department store chain acquired The May Department Stores Co. Federated has announced that it plans to divest its bridal unit, which includes 256 David’s Bridal stores, more than 500 Formalwear stores, and 11 Priscilla of Boston stores in 47 states and Puerto Rico.
