Warnaco Picks Up Euro Calvin
New York–based Warnaco Group agreed to acquire all the shares of the company that runs its licensed lines and related wholesale and retail businesses for Calvin Klein jeans and accessories in Europe and Asia, as well as the CK Calvin Klein line of sportswear and accessories in Europe. Fingen SPA, a holding company controlled by Corrado and Marcello Fratini of Florence, Italy, will receive about $286 million from Warnaco. Calvin Klein Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Miami-based Phillips–Van Heusen Corp. The deal is expected to be finalized during the first quarter of 2006.
