Warhol Echo
William Anzevino, at right with design partner Richard Florence, calls his 1,000-square-foot store a gallery. He and Florence opened the Hollywood space on Dec. 15. Anzevino’s description of the store, Anzevino and Florence, is fitting, because the Pittsburgh, Penn.–based Andy Warhol Museum partnered with the design team of Anzevino and Florence to create a collection of T-shirts celebrating Warhol’s films. The Anzevino and Florence store also sells the design team’s Spring 2006 collection, including the “Hooded Scarf,” worn by Anzevino, a hooded sweater cut into a hood and scarf. The team also makes T-shirts with a wood-grain design, and “The Interview,” a collared shirt with a matching tie.
Anzevino and Florence started doing business in 2002 in Pittsburgh, where they first began working with the Andy Warhol Museum. They moved to Los Angeles to be closer to manufacturers and hope to open several more stores in the future. —Andrew Asch
