Jeantex Group to Acquire Sanatex Inc.
Huntington Beach, Calif.–based Jeantex Group, manufacturer of denim for brands such as ABS, Blue Cult, Guess and Lucky, is set to acquire Carson, Calif.–based apparel manufacturer Sanatex Inc. A low-cost privatelabel manufacturer for mass merchants and department stores, Sanatex’s clients include Target Corp.; Kohl’s Corp.; Sears, Roebuck and Co.; and Wal-Mart Stores Inc.
Sanatex owns a 238,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in the private free zone in Kalubia, Egypt—an arrangement that gives the company exemption from tariffs on finished goods shipped to the United States. “We plan to increase our production for both Sanatex and Jeantex out of this facility,” said Henry Fahman, chairman of the Jeantex Group, in a statement. —Erin Barajas
