Congress has earmarked $13 million for the National Textile Center to fund research on how to make the U.S. textile industry more competitive in the global market. The money, provided through a U.S. Department of Commerce grant, will help finance 15 to 20 new fiber and textile research projects, as well as fiber and textile educational programs including internships and fellowships.
