Paxar to Host Brand Protection Forum
White Plains, N.Y.–based tags and labels supplier Paxar Corp. will present a seminar on brand protection and counterfeiting Sept. 15 at the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel.
Paxar’s vice president of new business development, Paul Chamandy, will address how apparel companies can use technology to protect brand integrity and thwart counterfeiting and diversion.
Paxar manufactures tags and labels as well as bar-code and radio frequency identification systems.
A product expo will be held from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The seminar will take place at 10:30 a.m., and lunch will be at noon. The event is free to the trade.
According to Chamandy, the issue of brand protection is becoming increasingly important as apparel production moves offshore. Studies indicate that sales of counterfeit products have increased 400 percent since the early 1990s, he said.
