Nordstrom and Jeffrey
Seattle specialty retail chain Nordstrom Inc. purchased a majority stake in influential boutique Jeffrey and landed the store’s founder, Jeffrey Kalinsky, as its new director of designer merchandising. Kalinsky will also remain as president and chief executive officer of the two Jeffrey stores, Jeffrey New York and Jeffrey Atlanta. Kalinsky opened his first store in Manhattan’s Meat Packing District in 1999. In addition to 95 Nordstrom stores, Nordstrom Inc. operates 49 Nordstrom Rack stores, five Faconnable stores, a freestanding shoe store and two clearance outlets.
