CMC Names New Gift/Home Leasing Director
Robert Sotomayor has joined the California Market Center in Los Angeles as the director of leasing for gift and home. He replaces Charles Snyder.
Sotomayer will oversee all leasing activities and special projects for the gift and home sectors of the CMC, which is owned by Los Angeles–based Jamison Properties. He will also help develop contemporary shows, with an emphasis on categories such as jewelry, fashion accessories, toys and personal care. His primary and immediate focus will be to build and expand the permanent leasing roster at the building.
Sotomayor comes to the company with more than 15 years of industry experience. He was the director of the gift and home deacute;cor sectors of the L.A. Mart, where he assisted in leasing the permanent showrooms and the “Galleries” areas, which highlight specific products.
Prior to that, he was the sales director for Atlanta-based AMC Inc., former operator of the California Gift Show. There, he was responsible for selling temporary space at the Los Angeles Convention Center. —Robert McAllister
