Anjac Sells Olympic Auditorium
Los Angeles–based Anjac Fashion Properties sold the Grand Olympic Auditorium to a Korean-American church for an undisclosed sum, according to parties affiliated with the transaction.
The Glory Church of Jesus Christ, a Korean congregation based in downtown Los Angeles, purchased the historic structure, which seats more than 7,000. The auditorium, located at 1801 S. Grand Ave., near Los Angeles Trade Technical College, has been home to dozens of boxing matches, including those of the 1932 Olympics, and served as the set for movies such as “Million Dollar Baby.”
A source close to the deal said the buyer and seller signed confidentiality agreements that prohibit them from discussing the transaction.Anjac owns a number of historic buildings along the Broadway corridor as well as in the Los Angeles Fashion District.
