At press time, Los Angeles–based Jamison Properties was expected to close escrow April 28 on its purchase of the California Market Center for a reported $135 million from co-owners Hertz Investments and DMG World Media.
Jamison announced a number of senior management changes as a result of the ownership change. John Kim will replace Paul Lentz as general manager of the center. Former Marketing Coordinator Yvette Beltran will return to oversee trade shows. Joanne Lee has been hired to oversee in-house marketing and special events.
Jacki Riggs will oversee production for marketing and communications for the fashion and gift sections of the CMC.Jamison said it also plans to make a number of capital improvements to common areas of the center. The Buyers’ Club was recently closed for repurposing.
“It will be pretty much business as usual. Jamison has about 90 properties, and the company is adding the California Market Center to its portfolio with the forethought of [it] being a long-term investment,” said a CMC spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the center will host a June apparel market and a July gift market and that Jamison will continue to support the markets and trade shows and invest in the branding and marketing of the center.
