NGC, Foxfire Roll Out Logistics Solution
Miami-based New Generation Computing Inc. (NGC) and Marietta, Ga.–based Foxfire Technologies Corp. have introduced a warehouse management software system aimed at improving efficiencies in apparel companies’ shipping-and-receiving operations.
Called Distribution Center Control System (DCCS), the system uses radio frequency technology to help move goods through warehouses quickly and give managers real-time reports on shipments and error notifications.
NGC said users manage all logistics functions and process advanced shipping notifications and other electronic transactions with the system. NGC President Alan Brooks said the system can process high volumes of orders in hours, compared with the weeks required in a manual environment.
The system is SQL-compliant and can be integrated into other NGC applications, including RedHorse ERP and e-SPS, the company’s sourcing and production management system. —Robert McAllister
