Tsabag Honored by FIG
Moshe Tsabag, founder and president of Los Angeles–based young contemporary collection Hot Kiss, will be named Man of the Year by the Fashion Industries Guild of Cedars-Sinai at the organization’s 49th annual dinner dance, to be held Oct. 8 at The Regent Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the child neurology and neurodevelopment program in the Ruth Bregman Children’s Health Clinic at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Tsabag joins a well-known coterie of past honorees, including the California Fashion Association’s Ilse Metchek, Self Esteem Clothing’s Richard Clareman, Great Escape and Stony Apparel’s Steve Maiman, American Apparel’s Dov Charney, Jem Sportswear’s Jeff Marine, and Choon Manufacturing’s Maurice “Corky” Newman.
Tsabag founded Hot Kiss in 1996, after years of success in the juniors business as co-founder of Yes Clothing, which he launched in 1982 with George Randall. Sales volume at Yes grew to $50 million, and the company went public in 1989. In 1995, Tsabag sold the business.
Under Tsabag’s direction, Hot Kiss’ success has outpaced that of Yes. The lifestyle brand includes sportswear; denim; dresses; and licensing agreements for swimwear, footwear, hosiery, outerwear, intimate apparel and childrenswear. In addition, the company has distribution and licensing agreements throughout the world. Its combined sales, including those of its licensed lines, exceed $100 million.
Tsabag and his wife, Gabrielle, are longtime supporters of the Fashion Industries Guild and other charities, including the Juvenile Diabetes Organization, Inner City Arts, the Israel Bond Fashion Industries Division, the California Counseling Center and the Los Angeles Youth Network.
