New FAB Festival Highlights Indie Design
Artists and art lovers alike will have a new shopping destination for one-of-a-kind treasures with the launch of the Food Art Business (FAB) street festival April 16 in downtown Los Angeles’ Artist District.
The Selah Artistic Giving Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering artists through business and charity, is launching the monthly street festival to connect independent artists and designers to businesses and nonprofits that support the needs of creative entrepreneurs.Targeted toward store buyers as well as sophisticated consumers, Selah selects exceptional artists and designers for the festival using a jury of industry professionals to ensure that the standard of workmanship showcased resembles an outdoor gallery rather than a craft fair.Within the setting of live music and fresh food, local artists will be selling their artwork alongside such local fashion labels as Show Pony, Ashley Paige, Amoration, Guy Baxter, Spectr, Damaged Goods, Bumble Bee Creations, Frequencia Modulada, Annataarian, Lynn Leatart, Sarah Perry and OStudio Works. The free event will occur every third Saturday of the month at 330 Santa Fe Ave., next to the Southern California Institute of Architecture. For more information, call the Selah Artistic Giving Center at (213) 626-0811.—Rhea Cortado
