Rate Hike
The Federal Reserve raised the federal funds rate a quarter percentage point to 1.75 to keep the economy on an even keel but indicated that the economy was healthy and the threat of inflation was abating.
The good economic report card left analysts confident that the Fed will hold off on further interest-rate hikes in the short term.
This is the third time the Federal Reserve has raised rates this year, but rates are still at 1960s levels.
